The annual dinner and awards ceremony was held for the second time at Vinoteca City.

During the AGM before dinner, it was announced that Nick Mumby would be stepping down from his second stint as Hon. Sec (thank you Nick!). Jonny Bridcut will replace him at the helm.

The highlight of the evening was a hat-trick for DJ Chak, who was the winner of the Arnold Woods Cup for Best Performance of the season for an unprecedented third time.

Ollie Doward won the Michael Meyer award for the year's biggest blow, also for the third time, drawing him level with John Murphy in the battle of the big hitters!

And there was another first - we had joint winners of the Roger Greenslade Trophy for Most Jester-like Performance. Congratulations to Matt Griffiths and Evie Miller who provided us with the season's funniest moment at Jesus College.

The nominations were as follows...

Arnold Woods

Sandesh Ramanayake scored an eye-catching 109 on Jesters debut at a chilly OMT in April.

Sachin Rawson's beautifully measured 91 in the last ball win at Hampstead.

DJ's 122* off 113 balls with 19 fours in the win at Sawbridgeworth.

Mitesh's maiden JCC ton -  101* - at HAC (13 fours and a six).

DJ also took 5-27 at Hampstead. Michael Meyer

Ollie Doward in the last over of a time game v Woozlers at Girton... Ollie struck the penultimate ball of the match for six which took us to the victory target, a pick-up over square leg which smashed into the perimeter fence by the Girton Road. Sachin's brutal pulled six off the returning opening quick at Kew.

Roger Greenslade (these all came from the same match against Jesus College)...

Simon Rawson took to the field in borrowed skintight trousers after forgetting his own and dispatching his wife to the nearest sports shop, but the extra tightness around his fragile hamstrings turned out to be performance enhancing as he came on first change to take 4-29 and completely transform the complexion of the game. His wife appeared eventually with the fresh pair as he grazed at third man.

Robbie Hudson was in the outfield rather than behind the stumps as he continued to recover from a long-term injury. Robbie was sporting some very irregular sportswear, a pair of chainmail oyster shucking gloves designed to protect a quite extraordinary new injury sustained playing golf earlier in the week. For those with a strong constitution, google ‘Giant hogweed burn’.

And our winners... Evie Miller, turning out for Jesus as they were short, came into bat at number 10. The ball was immediately tossed to boyfriend Matt Griffiths. Evie blocked her first ball but second ball she looped a catch back to the bowler. Time seemed to stand still as we all wondered what Matt would do. He opted, reluctantly, for ruthlessness. “You’re on the sofa tonight” was Evie’s brilliant response as she made her way back to the pavilion!
